Please follow the steps below if you need to create and send either of these files to GatherPlace support.
- Start GP4 if it is not already running.
- Select System Information from the Help menu in GP4. This will open the System Information dialog.
(Alternatively, from the "Run..." item on the Start Menu, run the program: msinfo32.exe, then skip to step 3) - Select Save from the File menu in the System Information dialog.
- Enter a name for the file, keep the Type set to System Information File and save the file to a location of your choice.
- Send the file to Technical Support.
- Select About This Mac from the Apple menu.
- Click the More Info... button on the About This Mac dialog.
- The System Profiler dialog will open (shown below).
- Select Save As... from the File menu of the System Profiler.
- Enter a name to save the file as, select the save location, select System Profiler from the File Format options and click the Save button.
- Send the file to Technical Support.
If you have an open trouble ticket with GatherPlace
- Open the email message that you received regarding the trouble ticket.
- Reply to the message.
- In the reply, let us know that you are sending the system info file.
- Attach/enclose the system information or system profile file that you saved in the previous section to the email message (very important).
- Send the email reply.
- We will review the file and get back to you as soon as possible with a resolution.
Note that we may need to contact you again for additional information before the issue is resolved.
If you do not have an open trouble ticket with GatherPlace
- Create a new email message in your email program.
- Address it to support@gatherplace.com.
- Enter a subject that refers to the issue you are experiencing or that the email contains the system information file.
- Make sure to include some details and contact information in the body of the email message
- Attach/enclose the system information or system profile file that you saved in the previous section to the email message (very important).
- Send the email (this will create a trouble ticket so we can track the problem).
- We will review the file and get back to you as soon as possible with a resolution.
Note that we may need to contact you again for additional information before the issue is resolved.
