Product or Service: StudyPlace, GatherPlace, TutorPlace
Client Software: GP4
On occasion, GatherPlace support may ask you to send your system information (PC) or system profile (Mac) to support when trouble-shooting a technical issue.
Please follow the steps below if you need to create and send either of these files to GatherPlace support.

  1. Start GP4 if it is not already running.

  2. Select System Information from the Help menu in GP4. This will open the System Information dialog.
    (Alternatively, from the "Run..." item on the Start Menu, run the program: msinfo32.exe, then skip to step 3)

  3. Select Save from the File menu in the System Information dialog.

  4. Enter a name for the file, keep the Type set to System Information File and save the file to a location of your choice.

  5. Send the file to Technical Support.


  1. Select About This Mac from the Apple menu.

  2. Click the More Info... button on the About This Mac dialog.

  3. The System Profiler dialog will open (shown below).

  4. Select Save As... from the File menu of the System Profiler.

  5. Enter a name to save the file as, select the save location, select System Profiler from the File Format options and click the Save button.

  6. Send the file to Technical Support.

If you have an open trouble ticket with GatherPlace
  1. Open the email message that you received regarding the trouble ticket.

  2. Reply to the message.

  3. In the reply, let us know that you are sending the system info file.

  4. Attach/enclose the system information or system profile file that you saved in the previous section to the email message (very important).

  5. Send the email reply.

  6. We will review the file and get back to you as soon as possible with a resolution.
    Note that we may need to contact you again for additional information before the issue is resolved.

If you do not have an open trouble ticket with GatherPlace
  1. Create a new email message in your email program.

  2. Address it to support@gatherplace.com.

  3. Enter a subject that refers to the issue you are experiencing or that the email contains the system information file.

  4. Make sure to include some details and contact information in the body of the email message

  5. Attach/enclose the system information or system profile file that you saved in the previous section to the email message (very important).

  6. Send the email (this will create a trouble ticket so we can track the problem).

  7. We will review the file and get back to you as soon as possible with a resolution.
    Note that we may need to contact you again for additional information before the issue is resolved.
